Description
The Op al ring is made entirely of 14 carat (585) gold.
It is decorated with an Ethiopian hydrophane opal and irregular prongs, into which it has been set.
We have made the ring using the lost wax method - it has been carved by us by hand and then cast in gold.
PLEASE NOTE! Do not soak the opal in water - it is best to remove the ring for bathing. Hydrophane opal absorbs water and becomes translucent. After a few hours or so, it returns to its natural milky colour, but prolonged exposure to moisture can cause the stone to crack.
