MAAR summer 2022 collection "On the beach at sunrise”

- This is a collection that combines day and night. When designing it, I thought of a girl who swaps airy romantic dresses for oversized Ramones leather jackets when the evening comes, paints her eyes heavily and is not afraid to stand out, says Agata Wojtczak, the co-founder of MAAR. Therefore, the novelties include delicate, subtle pendants and bubble ear cuffs, as well as large silver hoops, massive bracelets and eye-catching pendants with a sphere. The colour scheme of the collection combines the shades of sunrise, as if from impressionist canvases - sunny orange, vibrant pink and cool blue.

This time the core item in the collection are the earrings. For the first time in the MAAR collection, there have been several types of earrings with natural stones - short, on a stick with blue
topaz. And also long ones - combining topaz with orange carnelian or sea-toned quartz. - We wanted to combine two shades of blue - this play of tones makes the earrings, which we have called 'See the ocean earrings', shimmer like water rippling in the sun. We also have a rule that in every collection we feature a blue stone, the sight of which brings to mind the ocean or the sea. Topazes and quartz have been set into delicate, irregular prongs," says Antoni Bielawski, the co-founder of MAAR, who makes all the prototypes for the collection by hand. - We wanted to give the earrings a unique character without drawing the attention away from the beauty of the stones.

Apart from them, in the summer edition of MAAR, you can find rotating hanging earrings, as well as models with spheres -two
spheres are suspended on one circular earring - a larger silver one and a smaller gold-plated one. They can be worn together, individually or asymmetrically. - We have used the motif of piercing earrings again - this time the earrings are decorated not only with baroque pearls, but also with XXL hoop earrings, added the designers. The MAAR collection for summer 2022 also includes bracelets inspired by the designs of the Orno Cooperative, rings for the little finger, long medallions and the debut in the form of anklets.

Alongside the regular collection, there has been also the release of the premium line, made entirely from 14-carat gold. So far, three pieces can be found in this line- a ring
with opal, as well as a necklace and earrings with abstract shapes alluding to the works of Wassily Kandinsky and Joan Miró. The jewellery has been mostly made using the lost wax method. The prototypes have been carved in wax and then cast - either in silver or gold. The granulation method has also been used for some earrings, and 3D technology has been applied for one necklace.
